Chili

This recipe was honed over my second winter of graduate school until I perfected the perfect ratio of all ingredients!

Ingredients (makes about 8 servings):

  • 1 lb ground beef, cooked, drained
  • 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 28 oz can petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz can medium chili beans
  • 1 15 oz can baby butter beans, rinsed
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder (I used medium penzeys spice)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Mix all ingredients together and cook on stovetop for 2 hours, in a crockpot on high for 4 hours, or on low for 8 hours. Enjoy!
